Back Down 2, a custom-built 1989 Miller Marine sport fisherman designed by Mike Miller in Southport, Florida, is a stunning charter fishing boat. It was certified by the USCG in 1994 to carry 11 passengers and two crew members. The BD2 is fast and fully air-conditioned, with a luxurious interior and accommodations. The Back Down 2 is outfitted with the most up-to-date and best-available safety equipment, including automated fire extinguishers, smoke and CO2 monitors, the best life jackets on the market, and a USCGSOLAS A 16-person inflatable life raft.

Back Down 2 is one of just a few licensed Destin charter fishing boats capable of transporting passengers more than 100 miles from the nearest safe harbor. The Back Down 2 has new top-of-the-line electronics for your Destin deep sea offshore fishing adventure, including a Furuno 64 mile radar, Furuno 295 3 kW Fathometer with a 5 ch broadband transducer, shipborne computer with color chart plotter, real-time Doppler weather radar, sea water temps and weather forecast, AIS ship avoidance system, dual GPS guidance system, autopilot and Global star satellite communication, SSB radio and VHF radio.

Deep sea charter fishing necessitates the most advanced fishing equipment available. The charter boat Back Down 2 uses Daiwa, Saltega, and Saltist rods and reels for our fishermen as part of our dedication to excellence. We always utilize the highest-quality power pro and monofilament available. Diawa, Tiagra, and Fin-Nor reels, as well as custom-built rods, are among our offshore gear. We employ stand-up tuna fishing belts and an international tuna chair for offshore contests. We always have new and inventive tackle onboard as a field trial rep for Diawa saltwater tackle fishing out of Destin, Florida. We always advise more experienced saltwater anglers with their own fishing equipment to bring their own fishing gear. On a deep sea fishing trip aboard the Back Down 2, nothing beats catching a huge tuna or red snapper on your own personal fishing gear.
